Starters
Our kits are designed to use a stock VW or Porsche starter. You may need to consider a high torque starter depending on the compression of your engine.
A regular 12 Volt VW starter will crank most smaller engines and even some V6’s provided the engine has not been freshly rebuilt. Our starter tests in the chart below will help you decide which one you will need to crank your engine. The first column shows starter torque at the crankshaft using a fresh 12 volt battery.
