Rotary to VW Adaption
Our basic adapter kit for the Mazda Rotary engine to the Type 1 transaxle is
$400. It includes an adapter plate, new one piece steel flywheel, pilot bearing
and the bolts to bolt it all together. In addition to our kit you need a
counterweight from an automatic Mazda Rotary engine. If you haven't already
purchased your engine we suggest you buy one from an automatic Mazda so that
you get that counterweight with your engine. We do have new counterweights
available $109 to $160 depending on the year of the Mazda motor.
You will need a HD pressure plate, we suggest our Stage I for stock engine. If
you are hopping the engine then you may need a stronger pressure plate. A
clutch kit runs $146 when you buy an adapter kit (same price for Stage I, II,
III, or IV) and includes a pressure plate, heavy duty disc, and throwout
bearing.
You need a starter that will spin the engine fast but not a high torque
starter. We suggest a 6 volt starter run on 12 volts.
